This week’s podcast is a very special one to me because I got to interview my former boss at Star Song Media and one of the most influential mentors I’ve ever had, Darrell Harris.
Darrell started his career as co-founder of Star Song back in 1979 and he shares much of the development of this influential company through his twenty-year history in this episode, along with many key insights into how he worked with iconic bands and artists like Petra, Newsboys, Twila Paris and many more.
Darrell’s influence on me and on so many in the music world cannot be overstated. Having undergone spiritual transformation in his life, he brought a deep sense of prayer and humility to Star Song and helped shift an entire industry towards worship and humility rarely seen.
Along with drawing artists and coworkers into a deeper relationship with Christ, one of the hallmarks of Darrell’s career has been helping others tap into a deeper sense of their own creativity, as well. Check out his episode here and begin to tap your own wells of greater creativity!
Darrell has been Dean of the Chapel at The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies in Jacksonville, Florida, for many years now serving Masters and Doctoral students in much the same way he served so many of us who had the privilege of working with him in the music industry.
