“Through my work as a songwriter, I’ve seen the power of a song on many occasions speak to somebody when just talking didn’t seem to work,” shares Steve Siler, founder and director of Musicforthesoul.org.
Siler has had over 500 songs recorded in his career with nine #1 singles in CCM, and forty-six top ten singles. Nominated for four Dove Awards, Siler won the award in 2000 for Inspirational Song of the Year with “I Will Follow Christ.”
“At Music for the Soul we use songs and stories to share the compassion of Christ with people who are hurting,” he says, and Siler’s done just that, spending the last fifteen years opening and healing hearts by creating entire recordings around the “taboo subjects” of grief, addiction, breast cancer, suicide, and shame.
This week, Steve Siler is joining with NCS to present a powerful NCS Members Masterclass called “How Do You Write About THAT?!” to help you see clear and effective ways to write on sensitive subjects important to you. “Music for the Soul’s heart and voice provide a rich resource that ministers to the human experience as nothing else can,” says counselor Marsha Means.
