Nashville Christian Songwriters made its debut on the Red Carpet at The 49th Annual Dove Awards on Tuesday, October 16th, as we captured over a dozen spontaneous interviews with Dove Nominees and Winners such as Chris Tomlin, Cory Asbury (“Reckless Love”), Taranda, Carrollton, and the iconic CCM Artist and multiple Grammy® and Dove Award winner, Russ Taff.
Best known for his songs “We Will Stand” and I’m Not Alone,” Taff has defined male vocal artistry for over four decades despite a behind-the-scenes battle with alcoholism stemming from childhood trauma at the hands of an alcoholic father and an abusive mother.
A new movie entitled “I Still Believe” released in over 700 theaters this week for a one-night performance with a brief description still available with a trailer from Fathom Events HERE.
Taff spoke with us for a lengthy 7-minute interview on the Red Carpet describing his struggle with alcohol and the shame he felt as he represented the Gospel as a singer, his new documentary-style movie, and a new worship album releasing November 2nd entitled “Believe.” Accompanied by daughter Maddie Taff, Russ was warm, gracious, endearing and all we’ve known him to be despite his own inner conflicts.
